Portland Nature CIC works together with conservation and community groups on the Isle of Portland in Dorset to highlight the importance of its unique biodiversity and landscapes.
About the Isle
The Isle of Portland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) covering 351 hectares. Its cliffs and undercliffs are included within the UNESCO Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site for their geology and geomorphology.

Our Bumpers Lane Wildlife Area is popular with residents and visitors alike and the work we’ve carried out so far has been very well received

Over half of Britain’s 57 resident butterfly species live here, because restored limestone quarries and wild flowers create a warm, protected home

The Isle of Portland projects into the English Channel along the South Coast of England, giving it a sunny and mild climate which is reflected in its rich flora
